Helping People Heal Themselves
Here at Physical Health clinic located in Meelick, 5 minutes from Limerick City, I specialize in treating pain (acute and chronic), using Neuromuscular Physical Therapy, Sports-Orthopaedic Massage Therapy and Physiotherapy techniques to help you regain and maintain pain-free mobility and strength.

Treating The Whole Person
I closely examine the interrelationship between parts of the body, muscle groups, the nervous system, and the musculoskeletal structures when treating my clients. Fascia is the whole body connective tissue web surrounding all our muscles, organs and nerves. It acts as a dynamic, protective and sensory organ that thickens in response to nervous system stress, trauma, or chronic inflammation. Because Fascia surrounds and permeates every muscle, bone, nerve, blood vessel, and organ, a restriction in one area can cause pain or dysfunction in a seemingly unrelated part of the body.
Focused On Pain Relief
My unique Physical Therapy approach has successfully treated conditions such as Back Pain, Neck Pain, and Shoulder Pain, helping my clients regain normal mobility and return to pain-free living.
Personalized Treatment Plans
I assess client posture, note history of injuries and illnesses, check range of motion, and perform tests to determine the causes of pain. I then tailor treatment to address your specific injury or condition, ensuring the most effective and lasting recovery.

Understanding the relationship between the body’s Nervous System, Fascia and Pain
Neuromuscular Physical Therapy recognizes that the nervous system and its relationship with Fascia play a critical role in pain and muscle dysfunction. Imbalances between the muscular and nervous system can lead to a restriction in Fascia movement, causing muscle tension and joint pain. Here at Physical Health I use Neuromuscular Therapy techniques in conjunction with other Physical Therapies as part of a comprehensive rehabilitation program for conditions such as Fibromyalgia, Shoulder Pain, Back Pain, Neck Pain, Sports Injuries, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Knee Pain and Migraine.

The Benefits of Neuromuscular Massage for Chronic Pain Relief
The physiological effects of Neuromuscular Therapy and Sports-Orthopaedic Massage are rooted in their ability to influence both the muscular and nervous systems. This treatment strategy is designed to identify and alleviate pain caused by muscle dysfunction, which can stem from various factors such as injury, stress, or repetitive strain. When pressure is applied to muscle tissue, it stimulates blood flow to the area, promoting oxygen delivery and nutrient exchange. By stimulating sensory receptors in the skin and muscles, this form of application can inhibit pain signals traveling to the brain, effectively reducing the sensation of discomfort.
Flexible Physical Therapy Clinic With Open Minded Approach
A “one size fits all” approach doesn’t work in Physical Therapy because each person has unique needs, goals, and body responses. Personalized care plans, tailored to individual circumstances, are crucial for effective rehabilitation. As a Neuromuscular Therapist here at Physical Health I adjust the treatment based on how the body responds, ensuring each treatment builds on previous progress, building towards achieving the clients health and fitness goals.

My flexible appointment scheduling options, such as early morning, late evening, or weekend appointments, accommodate my clients’ work commitments, family responsibilities, or other life demands.

Sports-Orthopaedic Massage
Orthopaedic -Sports massage, often referred to as deep tissue massage or soft tissue manipulation, is a type of physiotherapy treatment that benefits not only athletes but anyone dealing with acute injuries, chronic pain, or limited range of motion. It is frequently recommended as a follow-up to physiotherapy treatments during the rehabilitation of injuries, as it focuses on the body’s soft tissues, muscles, tendons and fascia. This hands-on therapy incorporates a variety of techniques tailored to each individual’s needs. Whether you’re training for a competitive event or simply experiencing everyday muscle tightness, sports massage is an effective method for relieving muscle tension and restoring balance to the musculoskeletal system.
